Guangzhou Deep Drainage Pipeline Project

Project Overview
In Guangzhou, a region with annual rainfall of 1,800-1,900mm, approximately 19,780 meters of HDPE hollow-wall wound pipes were successfully installed, with maximum diameters of DN1800mm, under conditions of high groundwater levels and deep trench excavation .
Technical Solutions
Connection Method: Combined internal and external heat-shrink bands with external electrofusion belts for enhanced sealing
Installation Technique: Implemented ground splicing and integrated hoisting to reduce groundwater impact on connection quality
Foundation Treatment: Used 200mm thick sand cushion foundation to increase the contact area and protect the pipeline
Anti-floating Measures: Timed backfilling and daytime cooling measures to address the high thermal expansion coefficient of HDPE
Key Achievements
The project successfully passed the closure test with leakage rates below standard requirements, demonstrating effective performance under challenging hydrological conditions with deep excavation depths up to 4 meters .
