Project Overview:
This high-tech project involved installing the complex underground life support system for a large public aquarium. The system required pipes to circulate and treat massive volumes of seawater for various aquatic habitats. Installing ultra-large-diameter HDPE pipes (up to DN1000mm)​ with absolute precision to ensure zero leaks, as any failure would be catastrophic for the marine life .
Managing a highly complex network of pipes with numerous branches, changes in direction, and connections to different life support equipment .
Preventing pipe movement or offset due to soil pressure during backfilling and equipment operation.
HDPE Solution & Technical Highlights:
Pipe Type:​ Ultra-Large-Diameter HDPE Pipes​ were chosen for their corrosion resistance in seawater, joint integrity, and non-toxic properties.
Advanced Welding:​ Strictly controlled butt fusion welding​ procedures were implemented. Parameters like temperature, pressure, and time were meticulously monitored to achieve perfect, reliable joints for every connection .
Comprehensive Planning:​ The entire pipeline system was digitally modeled and pre-fabricated in segments to ensure accurate installation in the congested underground space .
Specialized Support:​ Custom concrete thrust blocks and support systems were installed at bends and junctions to prevent pipe movement under pressure .
